This colorful pet portrait features a Brittany Spaniel dog named Frisco, in bright colors. The portrait was painted with acrylic paints on a 16″ x 20″ stretched canvas, and completed April 4, 2023. The background features the gradient option, and has a smooth gradient of magenta, purple, violet, blue, teal, and green, from top to bottom. I chose these colors because they contrast the warm colors of his fur, which is red, orange and yellow. The original painting is hanging on his owner’s wall, but art prints and other merch are available in my online print store at RebeccaWangArt.com and also in my RedBubble store.

The Brittany Spaniel, often just referred to as Brittany, is a medium sized gun dog (sporting breed) bred for hunting birds. The breed originated in the Brittany province of France in the 17th century. Although they are sometimes referred to as spaniels, they are actually closer to pointers and setters than spaniels. They are most commonly orange and white, although they can be other colors.
