I have started a new series of colorful animal paintings – colorful wild cats. When I complete more paintings in this series, they will get their own gallery. The first in this series is a Bengal Tiger portrait, painted with acrylics on gessoed board. I used vibrant full saturation colors to really make the tiger pop! The traditionally orange areas were painted with oranges and yellows and reds. White and black areas were actually painted with cool colors, such as blues and purples. Even the black stripes are not really black, but dark purple. The purple and magenta background is dark to make the tiger pop.
